OSLO RUNWAY

In 2015, THIS IS founded Oslo Runway, today Norway’s leading platform for fashion - created to fill the void left after the closure of Oslo Fashion Week. The ambition was to establish a new professional stage for Norwegian designers while positioning Oslo on the international fashion map.

From concept to execution, THIS IS developed and produced Oslo Runway in its formative years, building the platform from the ground up. The agency was responsible for the overall concept, strategic partnerships and funding, as well as the full creative and operational execution of the runway shows.

Within its first seasons, Oslo Runway brought together both emerging and established designers and quickly became the central meeting point for the Norwegian fashion industry. Brands including byTiMo, FWSS, Cala Jade, Cathrine Hammel, Iben, Johnny Love and Epilogue presented their collections as part of the official runway program.

THIS IS also played a key role in shaping the platform beyond the shows themselves. The agency helped establish industry partnerships that positioned Oslo Runway as a broader industry initiative, while also developing programs such as the Bik Bok Runway Award - created to support and elevate emerging Norwegian designers.

The team was closely involved in every aspect of the runway experience, from model casting and collaboration with model agencies to choreography, show direction, guest management and international press relations. Jury selection and industry engagement were also part of the platform development, ensuring Oslo Runway reflected both the creative and professional ambitions of the Norwegian fashion industry.

Over the first three years under THIS IS, six seasons were produced and the platform was firmly established as Norway’s definitive fashion stage, the position it continues to hold today. In 2018, Oslo Runway evolved into an independent company with broader industry ownership, with the founders from THIS IS remaining among the owners.

Today, Oslo Runway stands as Norway’s leading fashion platform - originally conceived, built and launched by THIS IS.
